Annual Events

Music Under the Stars Concert Series, Summer

Hunterdon County has annually held its “Music Under the Stars” concert series for well over 30 years now. These free shows feature the best local musical talent in the area and often exhibit bands, groups and orchestras from very different musical genres every week. The series is held at Deer Path Park in Readington on Thursday nights. Aside from the music, the park allows spectators to set up a picnic dinner, use the open space for some frisbee or volleyball and allows kids to enjoy the playgrounds.

Independence Day Fireworks and Parade, July

Skies over Flemington will light up with an array of colors during the Flemington-Raritan Parks and Recreation Committee’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks celebration. The free event can be found at Reading-Fleming Intermediate School in the days leading up to July 4th. In Lebanon, an annual parade is held on Independence Day itself in front of Sutton Place on Main Street. The parade features vintage and restored vehicles from the Flemington Speedway Historical Society along with several different floats with creative themes, patriotism, music groups and children’s groups.
